BRICS Preview: Perspectives from India

Dear subscribers,

One of the big stories next week will be the 15th BRICS Summit being held in Johannesburg, South Africa. Both Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping will be traveling to South Africa for the summit. Vladimir Putin, of course, will not be attending physically.

I am sharing below this conversation I had, along with Dr. Harsh Pant, with the good folks at The New Indian Express. We covered a lot of ground, discussing what I believe is the identity crisis that the BRICS grouping is facing, along with the state of India-China relations, expansion of the grouping and what exactly can one expect in Johannesburg.
